Practice Speech Preparation

1. You will have 15 min. to prepare this presentation. Manage your time wisely. At the end of the 15 min. all materials will be collected, then returned to you just before your turn to present.

2. Choose a magazine from the pile.

3. Select an informative article on which to base your presentation. You do not need to know anything about the subject. All the information should be found in the article.

4. Prepare a 10 min. talk presenting the information from the article. Use facts and figures from the article to make your point. The presentation should be informative without being read straight from the text. Put YOUR spin on it but stick to the facts.

5. Your presentation will be scored on the official Envirothon judging sheet. Only your team will see it. 10 min. and only 10 min. will be allowed.

When EVERYONE is done, we will discuss the results. No team will be singled out. No scores will actually be recorded. This is an exercise to establish your baseline knowledge of how to do presentations.
