2009 STATE CHAMPIONS
WINNERS OF THE 2009 OKLAHOMA ENVIROTHON COMPETITION
LAWTON HIGH SCHOOL:
WINNERS OF THE 2009 OKLAHOMA STATE ENVIROTHON CHAMPIONSHIP, sponsored by the Oklahoma
Association of Conservation Districts. Lawton High School competed at
the National Envirothon Competition August 2-8, 2009 at the University of
North Carolina in Asheville, North Carolina. The Lawton team also
won the Wildlife section award sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of
Wildlife Department and presented by Will Moseley, the Aquatic
section award sponsored by Oklahoma Project WET and presented by Karla
Beatty and the Oral Presentation award sponsored by the Oklahoma
Association of Conservation District Employees and presented by Bradley
Hamilton.
NINNEKAH HIGH SCHOOL: Winners of
the Forestry section award sponsored by Cross Timbers Forestry and
presented by Tim Cannon and the Soils section award sponsored by the
Oklahoma Conservation Commission and presented by Lisa Knauf.
EDMOND NORTH HIGH SCHOOL:
Winners of the Special Topic "Biodiversity" award sponsored by the
Oklahoma Association for Environmental Education and presented by Karla
Beatty.
